“La Chasa”, es un espacio habitable creado por el artista Daniel Rodriguez, y qué instaló en la calle en el año 2020 para realizar allí su confinamiento o aislamiento preventivo decretado por el gobierno bajo la consigna “quédate en casa”, de esta manera esperaban mitigar la pandemia que estábamos afrontando.

 

El artista se expuso a habitar la calle durante 15 días en un lugar determinado e inamovible, la obra le permitió bajo difíciles circunstancias, comer, dormir, el techo, y demás necesidades; todo estaba dispuesto para que este lugar pudiese contener a una persona con todo su universo a cuestas en ese espacio tan reducido, pero a pesar de que estuviese resguardado, aún seguía expuesto a la calle, al calor, el frio, la noche, la violencia, el virus y demás.

 

Esta instalación performática metafóricamente retrata lo que pudo significar para muchas personas la vida en cuarentena al no contar con un trabajo y un hogar digno; revirtiendo la idea de impulsar o llevar el trabajo a casa, para llevarles la casa al trabajo, lo privado a lo público.

"La Chasa", is a habitable space created by the artist Daniel Rodriguez, which was installed in the street in 2020 to carry out his confinement or preventive isolation decreed by the government under the slogan "stay at home", in this way they hoped to mitigate the pandemic that we were facing.

 

The artist exposed himself to inhabit the street for 15 days in a narrow and immovable space, the production allowed him, under difficult circumstances, to eat, sleep, a roof, and other needs; everything was arranged so that this place could contain a person and its universe on his back in such a small space, but even though he was sheltered, he was still exposed to the street, heat, cold, night, the violence, the virus and so on.

 

This performative installation metaphorically portrays what life in quarantine meant for many people without a job and a decent home; reversing the idea of promoting bringing work home, instead, to bring home to work, the private area to the public.
